Purchasing Agent

Manage Contracts & Procurement of Goods and Services for all USMM Companies, which include: Medical Supplies & Equipment, IT, Office Supplies & Furniture, Apparel & Marketing/Promotional items, Service Contracts- Shred-IT, Pitney Bowes, Ricoh, Answering Service, Janitorial

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Involved throughout the entire supply chain process
-Liaise effectively with suppliers and manufacturers, as well as internal and external customers
-Negotiate effectively with suppliers
-Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers
-Analyze price trends and continuously develop market knowledge
-Direct and manage projects with Senior Management
-Able to work independently within guidelines to identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project
-Identify existing and potential vendors for assigned projects
-Conduct market research on vendor’s options and understand market cost for the category of goods and services
-Work with team members to ensure complete project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
-Evaluate project outcome as established during the planning phase
-Assist with RFP/RFQ for purchases
-Generate purchase orders daily
-Verify purchase requisitions by comparing requested items to the appropriate formularies, clarifying unclear items, recommending alternatives, obtaining approvals
-Control and manage inventory supply protocol for all the locations
-Work with A/P on reconciliation of invoices and pricing discrepancies
-Respond to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources on resolving issues, training, direction and appropriate approvals
-Develop and enforce purchasing and contract management instructions, policies and procedures
-Perform day-to-day administrative tasks
-Develop new and unique ways to improve operations of the organization
-Make decision to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interest of the company
-Determine strategies to move the company forward, set goals, and evaluate the process and results
-Assess problem situation to identify causes, gather and process information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations to resolve the problem

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


-2-3 years’ purchasing experience
-Excellent communication, math aptitude and organizational skills
-Proficiency with computers and data entry
-Must be accurate and detail minded
-Possess strong interpersonal skills
-Ability to meet deadlines, solve problems and work in a fast paced environment
