Physician Recruiter

Position Description

The Physician Recruiter is responsible for executing all phases of physician and Nurse Practitioner recruitment from initial contact through orientation. Responsibilities include developing and executing a sourcing strategy and cold calling strategy, building a pipeline in assigned geographic area, developing relationships with physician candidates, screening applicants, coordinating applicant interviews, participating in negotiations, closing offers and initiating the hire process.   The Physician Recruiter is responsible for creating and executing effective recruiting plans and managing the recruitment process.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Builds applicant pool by: networking, organizing and attending networking events and job fairs, establishing relationships with appropriate associations including professional and alumni groups, as well as utilizing social media, job boards and aggregator sites.
  • Serves as a company representative recruiting at colleges, attending student group meetings, and increasing designated college awareness of the company.
  • Outreach to passive candidates via cold calling, e-marketing, direct mail and the design and implement of other applicable outreach programs
  • Determines applicant suitability by screening and interviewing applicants; carefully analyzing responses; qualifying candidates, verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Guides applicant through selection process with a strong focus on creating a positive applicant experience
  • Meeting defined metrics.
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; conducting training.
  • Increases job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Improves organization employment brand by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks.
  • Maximizes use of technology to create greater efficiencies in recruitment process.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  •  Bachelorís Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent work experience.
  •  5+ years of recent, demonstrated Healthcare/physician/Nurse Practitioner recruitment experience including passive candidate sourcing.
  •  Proficiency with recruitment related tools and technology including but not limited to ATS(S), CRM, Internet Mining, and Sourcing.
  •  Must be available to work a flexible schedule, some travel required.
  •  Exceptional customer service skills
  •  Strong organization skills
  •  Assertive and strong sense of urgency
  •  Desire and drive to succeed

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  •  AIRS or other recruitment related certifications are a plus.
  •  Strong communication, negotiation, pre-closing and closing skills highly sought.
