POSITION DESCRIPTION  

The VP of Community Liaisons plans, directs, and coordinates the marketing of the organization's products and/or services by meeting the following qualifications and performing the duties detailed below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure the profit expectations and expansion goals of company are met.  
  • Supervises community liaisons and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this group of employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in the field in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Establishes individual marketing goals for the clinical liaisons and monitors compliance with those goals. Initiates corrective action as necessary to be certain that the achievement of marketing objectives meet or exceed designated budgets.
  • Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors so that the company can capitalize on market opportunities and minimize the effects of competitive activity.
  • Plans and oversees the divisionís advertising and promotion activities including print, electronic, and direct mail outlets.
  • Works with writers and artists and oversees copywriting, design, layout, paste-up, and production of promotional materials.
  • Develops and recommends pricing strategies for the organization which will result in the greatest share of the market over the long run.
  • Evaluates market reactions to advertising programs, promotional materials, and product positioning to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans so as to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Conducts marketing surveys on current and new product concepts
  • Recommends changes in basic structure and organization of the marketing group to ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives assigned to it and provide the flexibility to move swiftly in relation to marketing problems and opportunities.
  • Prepares marketing activity reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE  

  • Has a Bachelorís degree (Masterís preferred) or other equivalent training.
  • Has four + years related experience as a marketer, account executive, or similar position, and additional experience managing a group of marketers.  
  • Is able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Is able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Is able to write speeches and articles that conform to a prescribed style and format.
  • Is able to effectively present information, concepts, and strategies to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Possesses proficient computer skills.
  • Is able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and plan and implement solutions.
  • Can perform site visits and travel to various locations for the organization.
