POSITION DESCRIPTION  

Compliance Analysts are compliance professional generalists tasked with a variety of compliance activities of various complexities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Perform, or assist Compliance management, with investigations of compliance concerns that are raised
  • Provide guidance and assist in the identification, development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, and work instructions
  • Update policies and procedures and ensure they remain current and comply with regulatory laws and standards
  • Research and summarize complex documents and regulations
  • Perform and monitor audits
  • Process and respond to external audits or inquiries, from regulatory agencies (e.g., ZPIC, OIG, MAC, etc.)
  • Collect, organize, and analyze information pertaining to a variety of compliance activities and operations (e.g., audits, monitors, investigations, etc.) and provide feedback to Compliance management on these activities and any compliance issues that may arise
  • Maintain electronic systems (e.g., databases)
  • May be reassigned as needed to one or more Compliance Officers by the USMM Chief Compliance Officer
  • Conflicts in priorities, workload etc. are to be resolved between the Compliance Analyst and Compliance management
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE  

  • Bachelorís degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of compliance, regulatory, legal, or business experience in a healthcare setting
  • Compliance (e.g., CHC), coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCA, CCS and CCS-P) or similar credentials as determined by the USMM Chief Compliance Officer or obtaining said credentials within a year of start of employment
  • Excellent organization and follow-up skills including the ability to handle competing priorities and meet all deadlines and commitments
  • Excellent understanding and analytical ability of compliance standards
  • Excellent communication and people skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, applicable electronic systems and computers
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE 
  • Juris Doctor, CPA or advanced degree
  • CHC certification
