Position Description

The Learning & Development Specialist will implement a complete range of solutions for learning and performance initiatives companywide. Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, the Learning & Development Specialist will work with members of the operations and corporate leadership teams to implement strategies that develop and engage some of the health care industry’s most talented people.  The HR organization works hard to ensure our staff are best positioned to serve our customers, who deliver the best possible care to the communities they serve.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Instruct all levels of staff on a variety of topics including leadership and DISC training
  • Manage a development program from inception to completion (conceptualize, design, roll-out, communication with learners, evaluation and tracking)
  • Collaborate with a diverse, decentralized team including key business stakeholders
  • Leverage instructional techniques and formats such as, role playing, team exercises, group discussions, videos and lectures especially in leadership development
  • Track training attendance and oversee reporting
  • Assist in creating positive corporate learning environment
  • Manage/coordinate learning resources

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development or Business Management
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Learning & Development or in related Training positions
  • Experience working in a decentralized, operationally driven environment
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating a variety of topics at all levels of an organization
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building
  • Understanding of internal client relationships in a decentralized environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, various training methods, and web delivery tools (video, podcasts, webinars)
  • Competence with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organization skills

PREFFERED  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with Learning & Development in healthcare
  • PSHRM certification
